Information about Private Tuition

About Myself

Since graduating from Cambridge University in 1975, my teaching experience has ranged from being a Head of Physics in a tutorial college to teaching English as a Foreign Language in a Polish school. I have taught in both state and independent schools.

I have been specialising in one-to-one tuition since 1994. Much of my work is at GCSE and A level, and I am familiar with the examination board syllabi. I have also helped two students who were studying for the International Baccalaureate Diploma. In the past, I have tutored common entrance students, including successful tuition for an Eton Kings scholarship and, at the other end of the age range, have given support to undergraduate students and also one postgraduate student. I frequently assist first-year economics undergraduates, who sometimes feel challenged by the mathematical content of their course.

Private tutoring is now my main occupation. In 2003 I completed the part-time Oxford University Diploma in Computing via the Internet course, obtaining a distinction. My CV contains further details of my qualifications and experience.

Area Covered

I am based in WC1 and will normally travel to locations in Central London, Camden and Islington. I may consider travelling further for sessions longer than an hour and also during the school holidays.
